Forever Grateful

November 27, 2013

For just about a year now I have been working with the hit reality television show "The Voice." As a top 10 finalist on Season 5 my time in this competition was surprising, refreshing, and ultimately life altering. If I were to list my favorite memories of being on The Voice it would take hours, so I will just condense it into a bit of a think piece.

Never have I been so loved and appreciated by such a vast amount of people. I have spent months with some of the most talented individuals I have ever met. I have shared my story with an audience of over 15 million and in that process I have learned more about myself than ever before.

I will forever be grateful for the way I have been embraced by my fans and the knowledge I have gained both as an individual and as an artist.

Room Service

I have learned the art of living out of a suitcase... Tip everyone well and everything will be fine ;-)

This week has been one of the most amazing 7 days of my life. I was able to fly back to Washington, see some of my family and friends, play an insane show in my hometown, and sing another song on national television!!!

Your support has been motivating to say the least. Thank you for checking in and remember... "if it makes you happy, it can't be that bad" ~ Sheryl Crow

Graciously Competitive

October 15, 2013

My family and friends are the best PR team I could ever have.

The last few weeks have been insane. Thank you all so much for your continued support and for closely following my jaunt on the voice!!! The reaction to my blind audition has done wonders for me and my career.

My main goal in all of this craziness is to connect with as many people as possible and so far it has been successful. I am hearing from old friends, and making new ones, and am continually reminded why I do what I do. The feeling is inexplicable.

Going into the battle rounds I am extremely humbled, yet motivated to do my very best. The art of music has never been something that I looked at as a competition and it's the first time I have had to put my voice up against someone else's. That being said, showing who I am as a person and as an artist is the most important thing to me. Thanks again for all your love, and tune in next week... ;)
